Experiential education that explores new interests and careers

Experiential learning moves beyond the textbook, providing students with hands-on, real-world experience to directly apply their knowledge and skills. This past year, we significantly expanded these high-impact opportunities, allowing students to build valuable knowledge, essential skills, positive work habits, technical literacy, and professional networks. More than that, these programs are driving personal growth, leading to career clarity, and resulting in immediate employment and continued education for our students.

Be Our Guest Hospitality Program

This program is a cooperative education opportunity for students who are interested in hospitality and tourism, including business and management pathways within the industry.

This year began with a new orientation session developed in partnership with TMU professors, to set a strong foundation for students. The orientation focused on introducing concepts of professionalism, communication, and an overview of the varied career paths available within hospitality, giving students clarity and confidence as they entered their placements.

The network of placement partners was also expanded. New sites included locations in the Distillery District, the Legislative Assembly, and several hotels, offering students a broader range of experiences and exposure to different aspects of the industry.
