2026-27 Student Senate Election

If so,Ìý²â´Ç³Ü’r±ðÌýinvited to learn more about becoming aÌýStudent Senate memberÌýfor the 2026–27 school year. StudentsÌýcurrently in Grades 8, 9, 10, and 11Ìýare eligible to apply.Ìý

TheÌýTDSB Student SenateÌýbrings together students from across the system to share perspectives, discuss student priorities, and support student voice at a district level. Student Senate members meet regularly and work together on system‑wide initiatives that reflect the experiences of TDSB students.Ìý

Student Senate Positions AvailableÌý

  • 22 Family of Schools Representatives (1 from each FOS)Ìý
  • 1 Virtual Schools RepresentativeÌý
  • 2 Communications Officers (1 from each Learning Centre)Ìý

Family of Schools Representative (One per Family of Schools and Virtual. Open to all students currently in grades 8 to 11)Ìý

  • Takes minutes and attendance at all Student Senate meetingsÌýÌý
  • Produces and distributes the minutes of all Student Senate meetings in a timely fashionÌýÌý
  • Keeps accounts of money spent as well as requests for meetings and retreats, conferences and initiativesÌý
  • Commits time to ensure the success of Student Senate initiativesÌý
  • Attends all Student Senate meetings, committee meetings, and other eventsÌý
  • Represents the viewpoints and interests of the family of schoolsÌý
  • Communicates with constituent groups such as students, Student Council Presidents, etc.Ìý

Communications Officer for the Student Senate (One per Learning Centre and open to all students currently in grades 9 to 11)Ìý

  • Works closely with President/Vice- President and Staff Advisors to promote Student Senate including all its initiativesÌý
  • Creates promotional materials for Student Senate and Student Senate initiativesÌý
  • Assists President/Vice-President/FOS Representatives and Staff Advisors with drafting official Student Senate communicationsÌý
  • Maintains Student Senate email account and Social Media accounts in line with all TDSB Policies and Procedures (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)Ìý
  • Attends all Student Senate meetings, committee meetings, and the other eventsÌý
